Insulating gloves FAQ

Short answers for buyers and safety managers.

How do I choose the right insulating glove class?

Match the glove class to the maximum use voltage of the work, as set by your employer's electrical-safety program. Per ASTM D120 / OSHA 1910.137, maximum use AC voltages are: Class 00 500 V, Class 0 1,000 V, Class 1 7,500 V, Class 2 17,000 V, Class 3 26,500 V, Class 4 36,000 V. Never under-class.

How often must rubber insulating gloves be retested?

Under OSHA 1910.137, insulating gloves must be electrically retested before first issue and every 6 months after that. Gloves that have been tested but not issued for service may not be put into service unless tested within the previous 12 months.

Does a lab retest replace daily inspection?

No. Inspect gloves and air-test them for leaks before each day's use and whenever damage is suspected. Periodic dielectric tests are in addition to that.

How should insulating gloves be stored?

Store them in a glove bag, away from direct sunlight, heat, ozone sources, oils and sharp objects. Do not fold or crush them, and do not store them inside out.

Do I need leather protectors?

In most applications, yes. Leather protectors go over the rubber glove to protect it from mechanical damage. They are not electrical insulation, and the cuff clearance for the glove class must be kept.

What standards do PERENNINE's Tilsatec Pulse gloves meet?

The manufacturer documents Tilsatec Pulse insulating gloves against ASTM D120 and IEC 60903. Test documents are available on request.

Do you have stock in the US?

Yes. We hold US stock in Houston, TX, in partnership with CHX and Zeus Power Supplies. Contact us for a stock check by class and size.

What is the lead time?

Lead time depends on class, size and quantity. Contact us with an RFQ for a confirmed lead time.

Is a crosswalked part number the same as a Salisbury glove?

No. Our crosswalk matches published catalog attributes to support quoting. It does not mean the products are equivalent.

Is PERENNINE a manufacturer?

No. PERENNINE is the brand of Shanghai Jiuzhi Trading Co., Ltd., a trading company and an agent for Tilsatec Pulse insulating gloves.

Lead time figures: TBD. Retest interval wording follows OSHA 1910.137(b)(2)(xii)/Table I-7; verify against current eCFR before publishing.
